Skin Care Tips From Pro Kate Somerville

Kate Somerville is a Skin Health EXPERT. I’m a huge fan of her products, especially Exfolikate. She transforms complexions and if you don’t believe me, take a look at this 10-week skin transformation from her book, Complexion Perfection.

This is her three part plan for lit-from-within skin:

♡ Regularly steam your face

A must for bringing moisture to pores, increasing blood flow and loosening dead skin cells. Buy a home steamer or hold a warm washcloth over your face for five minutes. (Steam three hours before a big event to banish dullness.)

♡ Gently exfoliate

A healthy complexion does not include layers of dead skin! Kate recommends scrubbing twice a week with a formula containing microbeads, jojoba or flaxseeds. Follow up with a lactic acid peel pad.

♡ Majorly Moisturize

The most important step. First, she slathers on skin-plumping hyaluronic acid, then applies an oil to seal in moisture.

♡ Add three drops of chlorophyll to every glass of water. This plant extract can help combat breakouts and boost skin health.

Oh, I only WISH she had a skin clinic in NYC!

That sounds good, although I’m always concerned chemicals in products irritate my dry, blotchy skin. All what works for me now is coconut oil and lavender essential oil… But the tips make sense!

Sophie, I’m a big lover of coconut oil as well, though I’ve never tried lavender essential oil in my skincare. Tell me, how do you use it? xo
