Seasonal Eating: Winter

seasonal eating

The Earth produces what our bodies need during each given season. During the cold Winter months, our bodies crave heavier foods. Think warm soups and hearty chili. Root vegetables (potatoes, carrots, beets) are very satisfying in Winter, helping us to feel warm and cozy, while building our immune system against seasonal illness (cold and flu).

With that said, try adding these foods to your Winter grocery list:

Fruits
Dates
Citrus (oranges, clementines, grapefruit, lemons, limes)
Apples
Grapes
Kiwi
Pears

Veggies
Cauliflower
Brussels sprouts
Kale
Broccoli
Carrots
Spinach
Sweet Potatoes
Beets
Parsnips
Cabbage
