Those dark dots that appear on your legs after you’ve just shaved them? The technical term is “open comedones”, though they are commonly (and lovingly) referred to as “strawberry legs”.
They are harmless, open pores filled with trapped oil, dirt and bacteria. When the oil meets oxygen, the pores darken.
Try these tips to help diminish those pesky little dots!
Keep pores clean. Help release trapped oil, dirt and bacteria by gently exfoliating before you shave. Use an exfoliating scrub like this sugar + lemon one. Rub in circular motions.
A close shave with the right ammo. You may be tempted to use those cheap disposable razors, but investing in a high-quality razor is the best thing you can do for your legs. If you’re using a dull razor, it is pulling at the leg hair without removing the follicle completely, which will cause the dark pores.

Quick-fix confidence in a bottle: Try Sally Hansen’s Airbrush legs. I’ve mentioned this product once before in a post about how to get the look of flawless legs. It will cover most imperfections, will even out skin tone and will not rub off on your clothes. I love it!
Moisturize: Black dots or not, always, always keep your skin/legs moisturized!
Get to the root of the matter: Laser hair removal will effectively eliminate the look of dark pores, since it removes hair directly from the root. Though it isn’t the cheapest option, for me, it’s been worth every penny!
